The Shakaroo Project is being developed by
Hoag Computer
Technologies as an on-line project for creating a Sci-Fi background usable with any
game system. We will be using the GURPS
rules from Steve Jackson Games in developing this
background, as we feel that we need some sort of structure around which to build this
background and the GURPS system will make it
easy for others to convert it to fit their particular game system.
Our goal is to put together a site to support people who are running Sci-Fi based
games. Most of what is on the net is geared toward Fantasy games. We have
nothing against the Fantasy genre, but we feel that Sci-Fi games have not been treated
equally in the past so are going to try and help remedy that situation.
Membership is still available to those who want to contribute to The Shakaroo Project.
By contributing, you not only get to help in the development of this great project, but
you will have your name and any other information posted on the Members
page. Send us a picture and we will put that in with your listing as well.
This could be your chance for fame and glory! Okay, maybe not quite, but still, you
will get some recognition for your efforts.
We HAD a nice guest book up on this site, but
unfortunately some little spammers and/or script kiddies found out about it
and starting blitzing it with all of their junk. I decided that it
was just easier to shut it down for the time being rather than come up
with a way to prevent them access. I will get back to that at a
later date though.
